History

The 1990s

Construction site

In 1990, the company moved again, as the brand new and functional premises were completed on Rautatehtaankatu street.

In 1991, Auplint Oy, a manufacturer of marine electrical devices, was acquired.

LST Engineering Oy was established in 1992. The same year, the LST Group entered into a partnership to sell Finnish marine cables in St. Petersburg. The joint venture called Intelserv was later sold, as the shipbuilding business in St. Petersburg faded out.

The name LST Group was introduced in 1992. At that time, the group consisted of the following companies: Laivasähkötyö Oy, Sähkökonehuolto H Hietarinta Ky, Turun Hallintopalvelu ja Agentuuri Oy, and LST Engineering Oy. In 1994, a new company by the name of Turun Sähköpalvelu Oy was established with Mr. Jukka Janka-Murros as a partner and managing director.

In 1993, LST Group sold Gistele Oy and Auplint Oy.

The year 1996 was the year of the biggest single-vessel contract in the history of the LST Group. The LST Group was commissioned to dismantle and rebuild the mine layer Pohjanmaa, one of the largest war vessels in the Finnish Navy. The project was started at the Kotka repair docks but later moved to the Turku repair docks.

In 1997, the Turku shipyard of Kvaerner Masa Yards received an order for two of the largest cruise ships in the world. Additional orders were won later for three more Eagle class cruise ships. The last cruiser of this series, Navigator of the Seas, was delivered in the autumn of 2004. For Laivasähkötyö Oy, these cruisers meant several large electrification projects for several years.
